Playing together, learning together, achieving together.
Coronovirus and family learning at home
We are very sorry to have temporarily closed the school to most of children and families. In the meantime, we will use the school website, our Facebook page and Marvellous Me to help you whist you are home together.
While school is closed it will be very important for you to have a regular daily routine and there are lots of things that you will have time to work on whilst you at home, to help your child become independent and ready for school.
Top tips for planning your day
Support your child to get dressed on their own, learning how to do tricky things like putting on their own socks and doing up fastenings; this will support their fine motor skills
Eat meals together at the table and help your child to use cutlery independently; this will help them when they have lunch at school
Get out for walk everyday regardless of the weather and follow social distance rules
Set aside time to play games and do puzzles together; this will support their literacy and maths skills
Be active and keep fit eg dancing to different types of music and exploring different beats; this will support their physical and creative development
Limit children's screen time; this will help them to be sociable and use language as form of communication
Read lots of books at least 3 a day; this will develop their story telling language and imaginative skills
Sing favourite rhymes and learn some new ones; this will help to develop their phonic knowledge
Have quiet moments using peaceful music to listen to; this will help them to learn to self regulate and keep calm
